Youth Workshops & Activities
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Please note that the outdoor activities are subject to change based on weather and camp staff availability. Read more about the activities here.
Adventure games (ages 8-10)
Sponsored by Classical Learning Resource Center
Kids will get to work together to "discover through problem solving."
Adventure course (ages 11-14)
Sponsored by St. Raphael School
Kids will be presented with a story or a situation and must work together to overcome each obstacle before moving to the next challenge. This part of the course offers an excellent opportunity to work closely as a group.
Adventure course & climbing tower (ages 15-18)
Sponsored by The St. Constantine College
In addition to the adventure course, teens will get to try out the tower, which rises 33 feet into the air and has multiple sides. Each side offers a different degree of difficulty for the climber.
Mini Golf (all ages)
Sponsored by St. Basil Center and CiRCE Institute
Each conference attendee, small and big, can play a free round of mini golf!
Plus hiking, Gaga ball, orienteering, stargazing, campfires, and more!
SPIRITUAL FORMATION
Listen to three Saint Emmelia teens share the impact the conferences have had on their lives on our podcast.
Chanting/Music
Kids and teens will have the opportunity to learn or practice chanting skills in a group setting.
Ask Abouna
During these sessions, students have the opportunity to ask clergy about whatever is on their minds: from theology to growing up to football!
Singing & Serving
Students can serve in the altar or join in the choir (note: there is an altar servers meeting and choir rehearsal Thursday night.)
Confession
Students will have time to give confession to/get spiritual counsel from a priest.
Fellowship
Perhaps most important of all, the Saint Emmelia Homeschool Conference gives kids and teens an opportunity to connect with other Orthodox homeschoolers. The lasting relationships made at the conference strengthen kids in their faith.
